Who is Hans Boon of Aquaculture Experience

With well over 25 years experience in the international aquaculture industry Hans established his consulting company Aquaculture Experience in June 2008. Since the start of the company Hans worked on several assignments ranging from interim general manager of an aquafeed company in Greece till developing export markets in Asia and supervising field trials with eels in ponds in the Netherlands. Hans Boon has a broad international experience in the aquafeed and aquaculture industry. Hans was able to develop his experience mostly through his employment in the aquafeed division of a multinational nutrition company, Provimi. He worked as (interim) general manager, nutritionist/product manager, trouble shooter in production, sales and marketing coordinator as well as in export development on profit centre and corporate level.

Graduated biologist from Wageningen University in The Netherlands with an aquaculture & nutrition specialization Hans started his professional career in 1987 as biological and technical supervisor in the eel farming business in the Netherlands.
In 1989 he moved to the Provimi Group where he held several positions starting as technical - commercial sales manager and became manager of the aquafeed business unit in The Netherlands in 1993.
From 1999 till 2008 Hans worked in Provimi Holding aquafeed division at first as manager aquafeed development and from 2003 as assistant division manager.
Hans was instrumental in the growth of Provimi's Aquafeed Division from scratch to a production of approximately 250.000 tons aquafeed in Brazil, Chile, Denmark, Spain and Greece in 2007 when this activity was divested and Hans started his own company Aquaculture Experience.
